i am one with the nite.

i juz got back home frm doing fyp in sch till quite late. late as in 11pm plus... lucky we went off on time to catch the last bus ( i think).

there's one last train at boon lay but i didnt tk. i took 30 to a few stops b4 harborfront... i rem there's a petrol kiosk there, and so there shld b food. my lunch was at 4... my dinner was bought from the 7-11 at the kiosk, juz a choc cream bread and 1 bottle of mango tea.

since there's no bus (actualli there was but i was too lazy to run after it since i'm carrying a bag and eating) i walked home. took me a gd half hr b4 i got home... along the way, i tried to keep steady my pace since i wanted to go back soon. not to mention a bit tired, a bit sleepy... but some interesting sights abound.

at tis time no one is on the streets anymore. so i began to sing as i was walking back home... juz keeps the sleepiness and hunger away. song aft song, my faves all of them, played:

s.h.e - BOOM
s.h.e - superstar
butters' audition - little bunny foo foo
s.h.e - ring ring ring
etc...

the nite breeze is juz so cool... and as i was walking home, i was reminded of the days when i was serving ns. i was walking on route marches late at nite, singing songs to boost morale and occassionally chatting with my course mates to keep the boredom away. now i walk again, albeit with a lighter load and a much lighter heart.

i saw construction that goes on at nite, to keep the roads ready for cars to travel on tml...

i saw ppl working late in coffeeshops to keep hungry stomachs full...

i saw empty cabs trying to get customers on a monday nite / tue morn where ppl wld be sleeping to recover frm the wkend...

i saw...

i think i shld slp soon. juz wanna post an entry to sae how i love the occasional nite walk.

i am one with the nite.

especially when i'm sleeping the nite away... zzz.

i woke up bewildered...

it's not often that i have eerie dreams. nightmares, perhaps, but eerie dreams... hmmm...

i think i had this dream before, or at least that was the impression i had when i was in the dream. that is, i innately "knew" beforehand some stuff. this is marked in the story by a *. call it deja vu? prophecy? i have no idea.

but here goes:

i found myself in a crowded food court, seated at a table with all my cousins and an old lady. we were told by the old lady to visit one of her grandchildren's stalls, a western food stall. that means we dun have to pay for anything. sounds good eh.

the old lady remain seated at the table while we went off to the stall. we were told to inform the stall owner that we were the grandchildren of this particular old lady. the owner (2 owners in fact, a young guy and a young gal, i think. not a couple though) looked at each other and said, "again?"

they let us into the stall and let us chose whatever we want. i was careful to ask which of the food's ingredients were bought today. only the chicken thighs and drums, the owners replied. * (cos if i really had this dream b4, it meant that some of the ingredients were actually supplied by the old lady, who might have gardening as a hobby. mostly she wld supply vegetables to her "grandchildren" so for western it'll be potatoes, carrots, broccoli etc.)

good... that means i'll avoid the fries and wedges later. you see, the veggies are supplied by the old lady. and the old lady can only supply rotten veggies, with maggots crawling in them. why so black-hearted? its not that... its just that she's already dead for a long time, and the only veggies she can supply are veggies harvested a long long time ago and stored in some place until they rotted to the core, since she wasn't there anymore to make sure that the fresh ones are cooked and the rotten ones thrown away... * i knew the fact that she was long dead. just that i did not tell anybody.

the male owner turned to the female owner. "maybe we should stop deceiving the old lady. we've been living off her a long time already?"

"are you crazy? what about the iPod i wanted to buy? and my car? and the car you've been wanting so badly?"

it turns out that, for being the old lady's "grandchildren", you get compensated really well! and it's not in hell bank notes, its cold hard cash. so that explains why the owners can open a stall (the capital must have came from you know where)...

ok, so all the food was ready and they got to the table. the old lady didnt eat (obviously) while my cousins were munching down every single bit. i only took the chicken and ate it, so as not to appear suspicious. then a waiter came over (food court... waiter?!) and passed me a note. i kept the note in my folder and decided to read it later. apparently, it contained information about the old lady that cannot be "spoken" out.

ok soon after that, we left the food court. the old lady bade us goodbye and went off before us. she "walked" quite fast for someone her age. note that her feet was still touching the ground, but perhaps only to conceal the fact that she was floating. it was six plus in the evening... mind you, there's still sunlight about.

so all of us were walking towards the train station. as i passed the ticket gantry, i took out the piece of paper. my brother was walking beside me (i think he had a lot of fries and wedges... good luck to him...) and i was looking at the piece of paper. i forgot most of the contents, only that (as it appeared on the paper, same color and bolded):

do not disturb from 17:15 to 06:30. it's granny's sleep time.

that explains it. my brother went to someplace for a re-test (nature unknown) and apparently entered somewhere where he shouldn't have gone into. thats where granny was woken up and my brother perceived to be one of her grandchildren who has come to visit her. so as a kind gesture decided not to sleep but instead bring the grandchild out for dinner. brought the grandchild to a place where more of her grandchildren was running the stall. and what happened after that, you know.

hmmm... i remembered 2 other lines in the paper (as it appeared):

the old lady will think that someone is her grandchild if she "feels" something within that someone. then she will appear and treat the someone as her grandchild.

the old lady would have her feet moved so fast it would appear she's walking on the ground. in fact, she's floating just that her feet is close to the ground.

so my hypothesis is that she would appear and acknowledge the "grandchild" based on a "feel." however, i dun think she would harm that someone bah. not unless her secret is known. that perhaps is why the waiter passed me the note instead of speaking it out to me... maybe untimely death wld befall that person? that waiter must have been one of her "grandchild" before... but so is everyone in the food court! i rem they were staring at us real long and real hard... but did not mutter anything.

this dream, i think, was made from 810 am... to 9 plus perhaps? cos i woke up at 10... during 9 plus to 10 i had another eerie dream... but i cldnt make any sense of it at all...

brrr. the morning's cold... is my room cold too?

eerie.
