the girl's got balls.
i wun dare to call myself TV king cos i know of a lot of other ppl who rightfully deserve this title, but there is one which i never misses.
every tuesday at 830 pm, i will put down whatever i'm doing and tune in to channel U to watch "say i do" which is hosted by michelle chia and wu luo yi. its the only singapore produced variety show that i watch, mainly for the exciting stories of love.
today's episode is abt this girl who knew tis guy for 10 years and is in love, secretly, with him for 5 years wor! 5 years for some will already have given up, have switched several bfs, got married, got married and divorced and married, and...
i say arh, this girl has balls! which reminds me of sthg my fren told me the other day. 男追女,隔座山。女追男,隔 (layer in chinese, somehow my com dun hav the word) 沙。which means in english, when a guy goes after a girl, he is seperated by a mountain (indicated the high level of difficulty) but when a girl goes after a guy, she is seperated by a layer of sand (which means its easier lar!)
in other words its easier for a girl to chase after a guy than the other way round. however, its a overgeneralized statement and this particular episode illustrated with an excellent example.
the main problem the hosts discovered with the girl is that she lacks dress sense, because there are no ugly girls in this world, only lazy ones. 世上没有丑女人,只有懒女人。predominantly and always dressed in dark colors, as she has a room-for-improvement body, she wants to... DECLARE HER LOVE TO THIS GUY!
ha ha how many guys reading this would NOT want this to happen to them? anw, she had a makeover which reminded me of "diva on a dime" that is always shown on sbs buses. then, with new looks and new-found confidence, decided to tell her true feelings to this guy in a restaurant.
result? let's just stay as friends, but very very good friends, that is. how uncreative! this kind of rejection will most prob make the guy lose this friend since the next time they see each other it'll be very awkward... i have a very creative way to reject girls, not saying here... msg me for the answer. anw, the guy dun wanna give the wrong impression so was straightfwd in wat he said.
anyway, this girl has balls. not successful, but i applaud her. u've got more balls than guys in this world do (me incl.) so kudos to you, clap clap clap.
after following this show for a few weeks, wat attracted me was the hysterical situations ppl can be in and the remedies suggested by the hosts. sometimes, its becos of michelle chia la. she's quite pretty but not always, cos sometimes she doesnt look nice in certain outfits, but its subjective la. today... she ok, good. pass her. for those who haven watch - die die muz catch 1 episode wor!
anyway its always touching to see the truthful side of ppl and the joy they experience when things go well (like succeeding in proposing to the gal/guy - really! gal to guy, got!) but i never fail to laugh cos i think this is humor at its best. the girl actually sing song to the guy then say her true feelings leh... how many girls can do this... got balls, got balls. hmmmm.
ngli wu ji! - ah beng hokkien for you've got balls.
