neglected postings

hi ppl hv not been posting any interesting stuff of late... this is almost becoming a bi-weekly affair as i'm very much bogged down by school and other social commitments. not to forget that CNY is ard the corner and that means spring cleaning and shopping for clothes.

hmmm... where to begin? i left my last note on some "endings." perhaps now is the time to give some "beginnings" and the stuff that has been happening lately in my life.

firstly, let's NOT talk abt sch anymore. frankly it does not leave me very vexed, juz tat as i go along it becomes a real drag.

work: as i've already told some of my frens, i'm working part time, every tue, at my previous company. THIS is the killer. i'm planning to stop sometime aft CNY as i predict tat is where the shit from sch will really start to choke me. and already it is, so few more weeks from now i'll be having more time for myself and hopefully can spread my workload across my 2 free days... yes... i hav a 3-day week. whoopee!

frens: met up wif my jc classmates last fri, and was quite disappointed as the final turnout, incl. me, was only 3. my jc class size was only 12, with of cos the usual deviants and anti-socials, plus some who are overseas, and then the other 3 who's supposed to come nvr came. reasons: sick, school, work.

one of my good friends is leaving sg for an exchange in NZ. NZ, rite? shld be. met up wif her last thur to keep her updated abt stuff tat's been gg ard and of cos, some personal catching up. had a very interesting conversation and the topic came to focus on me, as to why the first impression ppl hav of me is "beng"... some reasons are as follows:

1) dyed hair (wtf?! lots of ppl do too!)
2) bochup attitude (workable area...)
3) my bracelet = beng?
4) my social circle -> rather diff from the click and thus more beng? (noteworthy pt)

pt 4 hit me the hardest. perhaps it is really true. the social grp u hang out wif reflects to a large extent the personality and character that you are. however, her words showed a radical difference in this view. that is, my personality is actually incongruent with the grp's and usually is the anti-norm of the grp, and hence, i was portrayed as the beng of the grp.

pt 2... yes, i admit tis. i go anywhere wif this "i very sian" look. cld be due to my craving for sleep. cld be the desire to be somewhere else rather than where i am at the pt of time. so i will work on tis. smile more and be more friendly. but i alr very friendly wat! thing is, i'm the chattable and friendly sort of person ONLY when u noe me for some time. eh. so that's the main issue. the luxury is not given to ppl everytime to noe someone at a more than an acquaintance level.

pt 1 and 3... food for thought.

anyway, tis fren of mine is leaving on nxt fri. well... not sure if u noe i hav a blog or if u read it often but hey... juz to add on to wat i said to u last thur... u'll be away for sometime in a foreign place. the road for the nxt 4 months or so maybe hard, maybe easy. most likely a cross of both. let me juz say that u r a great person to begin wif, and hopefully the exchange can mould u into a much resilent and greater person. shall not say too much here, juz that all the best and look fwd to seeing u ard again! will miss ya!!

personal life (crossed btw sch, work, frens etc): am trying to make some sense and order out of the hectic schedule these few weeks. some events tho:

1) i was approached at queenstown mrt station awhile ago to join a church. tis is... the 5th time. 2 personal invites and 3 from strangers. hmmm i got the feeling more will come. thing is, some common things that came from the 3 strangers were the emphasis on natural disasters and so on. not very positive marketing i wld say! it kinda seems that u join a faith out of fear and that u may be delivered, so to speak, if u join a particular religion. i'm not really into debates on faith issues as i believe they are best left to experts in the scholarly area.

2) interesting translation lessons. having not attended chinese lessons since i grad from sec sch in 2000 (i skipped chinese AO cos i had HCL) and now in 2007, attending chinese lessons were kind of... brings back memories. had no difficulty in understanding the lecturer as is from sg, i think. plus the tutorials focus only on 1 main idea at a time. plus the class is quite on, in terms of discussion. so no boring moments. the more challenging part is the understanding of the terms used to sub english words, such as nouns, subjects, verbs, objects, adjectives... etc. plus majority is gals, mostly majors in chinese or minors in translation. then, plus, the usual... another pretty girl in the class! i kinda established my "type" alr... will SU tis module of cos!

3) CNY mood! wif the gatherings and ang baos and feasting and gambling, i'm looking fwd to every CNY as it comes! weighed myself today @ 73k well, of cos, think will gain some later but wif the stress gg to lose them too!

ran out of things to write. but till then, nxt time lor!
